About Kathy 
Kathy Ozzard Chism took her first calligraphy class in New Jersey in 1972 at the age of 16, and fell in love instantly. She took class after class, perfecting her skills and her own personal style of lettering. Friends and relatives started asking her to do their wedding invitations and create lettering for special quotes as gifts...and within a short period of time, Kathy had a calligraphy business.
Since those early years she has:
- lettered literally thousands upon thousands of wedding invitations, including those of actors Eva LaRue, John O'Hurley, and broadcast journalist Ileana Bravo
- created calligraphy "mailbox" envelopes on the 1980 campaign plane for the soon-to-be Vice President George Herbert Walker Bush and his staff while working as a flight attendant through United AirLines for him and Ronald Reagan
- created the guest book calligraphy and addressed subsequent thank-you note envelopes for the 2009 funeral of Mark Felt (Watergate's "Deep Throat")
- addressed hundreds of envelopes for U.S. Embassy events while living in Washington, D.C.
- designed many invitations, signage, and tributes for groups and corporations, such as the Women's Campaign Fund, United AirLines, Kenwood Inn and Spa, Design Arts Seminars, and the International Trademark Association
- has sent calligraphy work to clients all over the United States, France, Spain, and Italy
- done calligraphic lettering for so many individuals and couples, she has lost count!
Kathy rarely goes a day without writing something in calligraphy, just to keep her "hand" in it. It truly is a life-long love of hers, one that has enhanced her life in many wonderful ways. For example, back in 1978, when filling out the four page application for United AirLines to fulfill her dream of becoming a flight attendant and seeing the world, she decided to do it all in calligraphy.
She got that initial interview, and ultimately the job. She was told that since United gets 10,000 applications a month many are never called...but they chose her application because it stood out.
